There is an old adage that states that if you don't know what you are looking for...you certainly won't find it. Nowhere is this truer than with employee selection and promotion. Many employees and managers have under performed or failed not due to their being poor employees but rather from being a poor fit with the organization or position. A good sound job analysis is the first step in ensuring that you are measuring the right attributes when filling your key positions.
PCI has over 45 years of experience in defining job requirements for thousands of positions from entry level to executive. Our consultants will help you cost effectively and quickly define success requirements for some or all the positions in your organization. PCI competencies are tied into your Business Objectives and Critical Success Factors but are practical and job-related so as to translate into day-to-day effectiveness. These competencies serve as hiring criteria and are useful in conjunction with performance management, leadership development and succession planning. Further, the competencies are used in designing cost effective and accurate selection systems.

1. Background Data review (e.g., existing job descriptions)
- 2. Facility Visit and Tour
- 3. Incumbent and Supervisory Interviews
- 4. Completion of Structured Questionnaires by Incumbents and Managers
- 5. HR and/or Management Review meeting(s)(rating and ranking of competencies)
- 6. Presentation and Documentation of Competencies
